    "
If I ever had doubts about the homeopathic treatment of animals, they disappeared one winter’s evening when I witnessed a prostrate, colic-stricken horse recover, and be back on its feet less than fifty minutes after I gave it a high potency Nux Vomica. You give the remedy – the patient gets better. Would they have got better anyway, the cynics ask? That’s all hypothetical, the homeopath replies – and who cares about hypothesis when a cure has happened?"

A Case History
Pony mare, aged thirteen.
Condition: Deep wound on the hock due to a kick from another horse.
Symptoms: Soreness and stiffness from a deep, bleeding wound.
Treatment: Arnica 200, several doses for five days. Bathing and dressing with Hypericum, Calendula and Ledum solution.
Results: One week later the soreness and stiffness was gone. However, the wound was not healing very well and was discharging yellow pus. Hepar Sulph 30, three doses/day for three days healed the wound completely.* In addition, this remedy unexpectedly cured excessive sweating on exercise, which the mare had been experiencing.
